Acceptable Use and Academic Integrity Policy
Last updated: August 2026
Tesify exists to help you write your own dissertation better — not to write it for you. This policy explains where the line sits.
1. The authorship is yours
Every sentence in your document is one you typed. Tesify organises your chapters, suggests improvements to text you have already written, builds your references and checks your originality. Your supervisor reads your writing.
2. What you agree to do
- Follow your institution’s academic regulations and its guidance on the use of AI tools;
- Declare your use of assistive tools wherever your institution asks you to;
- Check quotations and citations before you submit;
- Submit work that genuinely represents your own understanding.
3. What you agree not to do
- Present text you did not write as your own;
- Use the service to complete assessed work on behalf of somebody else, or ask another person to complete yours;
- Use the originality check to disguise unattributed material rather than to correct it;
- Share your account so that another person can submit work through it.
4. What the originality check is for
It shows you where your text matches published sources so that you can attribute properly before you hand in. It is not a tool for reducing a similarity score by hiding matches, and it does not guarantee any particular percentage or outcome.
5. If this policy is breached
We may suspend or close accounts used to breach this policy. Academic penalties are a matter for your institution, and responsibility for the work you submit stays with you.
